  • 1 jar raw sauerkraut
  • 1 pound turkey sausage (or plant-based sausage)
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • Olive oil
  • Paprika
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a cast iron skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the caramelized onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the sauerkraut, turkey sausage, sautéed onion and garlic, Greek yogurt, shredded Swiss cheese, broth, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle the top with breadcrumbs.
  5. Bake for about 45 minutes until bubbly and golden brown on top.
