Creamy Garlic Parmesan Cabbage is a rich and indulgent side dish that effortlessly elevates any meal.   • 1 medium head green cabbage (about 6 cups), thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, for heat
  • Optional: 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cabbage by removing the outer leaves and core, then slice it into thin strips.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter or heat olive oil. Add the sliced cabbage and sauté for about 5–7 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer while stirring occasionally.
  5. Reduce heat to low and gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Season with black pepper and salt as desired; add red pepper flakes for extra heat if you like.
  7. Allow the mixture to simmer for another 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens enough to coat the cabbage.
  8. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
