  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 1 cup mozzarella (shredded)
  • 3/4 cup cheddar
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a baking dish.
  2. Slice the potatoes thinly and layer them in the baking dish.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, whisk in flour until smooth, then gradually add milk and cream while whisking constantly until thickened. Season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in both cheeses until melted and well combined.
  5. Pour half the cheese sauce over the potatoes, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove foil, pour remaining sauce over the potatoes, and bake uncovered for another hour until golden brown.
