  • 1 cup sugar (200 g)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (133 g)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped apples (100 g)
  • ½ cup toasted pecans (53 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toast the pecans in a small pan until fragrant; set aside.
  3. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small chunks.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together; then add the egg and mix until fluffy.
  5. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon into the butter mixture; mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in apples and toasted pecans until well distributed.
  7. Pour batter into a greased 8×8 inch baking dish and bake for 30-45 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool for about 15 minutes before slicing into squares.
