Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in beef chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the beef chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix together flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Dredge each chop in the mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the beef chops until golden brown on both sides (about 3–4 minutes per side) then set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, cook sliced onions until softened (about 5 minutes).
  5. Stir in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits from the pan. Add buttermilk and butter; let it thicken slightly.
  6. Return beef chops to skillet, spoon sauce over them, cover, and let simmer for about 20–25 minutes until tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
