  • 4 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup diced strawberries (fresh)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract; whisk until smooth.
  4. On half of each heart-shaped pastry, spoon the cream cheese mixture and top with diced strawberries. Fold over the other half and seal the edges with a fork.
  5. Prepare an egg wash by whisking together the egg and cold water; brush over each danish.
  6. Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
