  • 8 tablespoons cold butter
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup sourdough starter discard
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly spray a cast iron skillet.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Add sourdough starter, milk, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda; mix until combined.
  4. Roll out dough into a rectangle (12 x 22 inches).
  5. Spread melted butter on dough, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
  6. Roll tightly from one edge into a log shape; slice into rolls.
  7. Place in the skillet and bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
