Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup unsalted cultured butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chopped Oreos
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare a 9-inch cake pan by greasing it and lining the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream unsalted cultured butter with light brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and fine sea salt. Gradually mix this dry blend into the wet ingredients until almost combined.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped Oreos until evenly distributed, then pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 22–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely before removing from the pan.
  6. For frosting, beat room temperature unsalted butter until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar. Mix in heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt until fluffy.
  7. Decorate the cooled cake with frosting using a pastry bag fitted with a star tip and garnish as desired.
