  • 3 tbsp cooking oil (vegetable, grapeseed, or olive)
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 tbsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Vegetable or canola oil for frying
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot over medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the wing seasonings: Old Bay seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, baking powder, and flour.
  3. Clean and dry the chicken wings thoroughly.
  4. In a large bowl, combine wings with cooking oil and half the seasoning mix. Toss to coat.
  5. Coat wings in the flour mixture until fully covered.
  6. Fry the wings in batches at 350°F for about 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and crispy (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  7. While frying, whisk together honey, Old Bay seasoning, hot sauce, and lemon juice in a small saucepan over medium heat until bubbling; then reduce to low.
  8. Toss cooked wings in the heated sauce until well-coated.
