Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lb skin-on salmon fillets (1.5-inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat dry the salmon fillets with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the salmon skin-side up for about 5–6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate.
  3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, water, cornstarch, and lemon juice; whisk until smooth.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant, then add the sauce mixture and stir until thickened (about 3–4 minutes).
  5. Return salmon to the skillet, coating with the sauce. Garnish with green onions before serving.
