  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed to 110°F)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 beaten egg (for brushing the tops)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (for finishing)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for finishing)
  • flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by lightly buttering it.
  2. In a small pot, melt unsalted butter and add minced garlic; cook until fragrant.
  3. In a stand mixer bowl, combine flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt; mix well.
  4. Add warmed milk, egg, and cooled garlic butter mixture; knead until smooth (10–12 minutes).
  5. Shape the dough into 12 equal balls and place them in the prepared pan.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap; let rise until doubled in size (1–2 hours).
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) while the dough rises.
  8. Brush the tops of rolls with beaten egg wash and bake for 20–30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare additional garlic butter and brush over warm rolls before serving.
