  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce for glaze
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil for glaze
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • Shredded cabbage or lettuce for topping
  • Diced green onions for topping
  • Sesame seeds for topping
  • Sriracha or spicy mayo for topping

Instructions

  1. Heat 1-2 inches of cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Once hot, carefully add wonton wrappers one at a time, folding them gently into a taco shape with tongs.
  3. Fry for 20-30 seconds on each side until crispy and golden.
  4. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
  5. In a separate skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  6. Add diced chicken and season with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper.
  7. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until fully cooked and slightly caramelized.
  8. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  9. Heat over medium-low until simmering.
  10. Gradually stir in the cornstarch slurry while whisking continuously until thickened.
  11. Remove from heat.
  12. Pour the teriyaki glaze over the cooked chicken.
  13. Toss until evenly coated and let simmer for another minute to absorb flavors.
  14. Fill each crispy wonton shell with a spoonful of glazed chicken.
  15. Top with shredded cabbage, green onions, sesame seeds, and drizzle sriracha or spicy mayo if desired.
