  • 2 Granny Smith Apples (cubed)
  • 1 cup water (plus 1 tablespoon)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided)
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 25 caramel squares

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine water and lemon juice in a bowl.
  3. Core and chop apples into cubes; place in the lemon water to prevent browning.
  4. Melt 2 cups of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 15 seconds until smooth.
  5. Spread melted chocolate evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Press pretzels into the chocolate layer.
  7. Drain and pat dry the apples; arrange them over the pretzels.
  8. Melt caramels with 1 teaspoon of water until smooth; drizzle over apple layer.
  9. Melt remaining chocolate chips and drizzle over the top.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator until set, then cut into pieces.
